About this job
A photo journal is a printed book built around pictures, used for travel diaries, family albums, notebooks and keepsakes. Individuals and small groups in Singapore commonly print them as gifts or personal records, in a single copy or a short run.
The cover shows a sunset over the sea in saturated orange and red, with a few butterfly silhouettes rising above the horizon. The image runs to the edge of the cover with no white border. The image runs to the edges, so no white border shows. The book is perfect-bound, which means the pages are glued to a wrapped cover at the spine for a square, book-like finish. The visible dark edge suggests a firm, thick cover, which gives the book a substantial feel in the hand.
Photo books are produced from supplied images that are checked for resolution at the final size, colour mode and crop. Large sunset gradients are checked for banding and smooth tone. Pages are printed, collated and bound with an adhesive spine, then trimmed on three sides. Cover alignment and spine width are checked before the book is finished, because both depend on the paper and number of pages.

What is perfect binding?
Perfect binding glues the page block into a wrapped cover along the spine. It gives a flat, square spine that suits photo books, journals and reports with a moderate to high page count.
What image resolution is needed for a photo cover?
Images should be sharp at the final print size, commonly around 300 pixels per inch. Low-resolution images may look soft or pixelated, especially across a full-bleed cover.
Can a book be printed in a single copy?
Short runs, including single copies, are possible with digital printing. Check the binding and page count with the supplier, as options depend on the length of the book.
Can EZ Print print something similar on a deadline?
Same-day and urgent printing available. Subject to artwork approval, payment, print type and production availability. Timing confirmed per job.
