A useful flyer printing brief tells us what you need, how the flyer will be used and when it must be ready. Start with the finished size, quantity, printed sides, paper preference and artwork status. Add finishing and handover details before requesting a quote. A complete brief helps EZ Print assess the whole job together.

Start with the purpose and finished size

A flyer handed to a visitor has a different reading context from one placed inside a package. Describe who will receive it and what they need to do next. That gives the size, layout and paper conversation a practical starting point.

State the size of the finished piece in millimetres, or name the format you have chosen. If the design folds, include both the open dimensions and the folded result. The flyer printing page provides a place to begin; the quotation confirms the specification for your job.

Avoid leaving “small flyer” as the only size instruction. A precise finished size helps everyone review the same result, including the person preparing the artwork.

Separate quantity from versions

Give the total quantity and say whether every copy uses the same artwork. A campaign with two languages or several locations may need separate artwork versions. List the quantity for each version so the brief does not accidentally imply one design for the full run.

Also state whether the flyer prints on one side or both sides. For a two-sided flyer, identify the front and back clearly. If the designs have different orientations, check that the intended reading direction is clear in the supplied files.

Describe paper by the decision you need to make

If you know the paper weight and finish, include them. If you do not, explain the intended use: a short promotion, a menu insert or a piece that needs to feel more substantial. Ask us to discuss a suitable specification in the quotation.

Paper weight alone does not describe the entire result. Surface, thickness and the artwork all affect how a sample feels and reads. Keep material preferences separate from requirements that must remain fixed. Our guide to choosing business card paper explains useful paper vocabulary; confirm flyer suitability separately rather than assuming the same choice fits every format.

Make the artwork handover clear

Tell us whether the file is final and who approves changes. Keep contact details, dates, spelling and any QR destination checked before artwork approval. Send the artwork through the agreed WhatsApp or email conversation after preparing your enquiry.

For a design that reaches the trimmed edge, the artwork generally needs to extend into a bleed area. Adobe’s print bleed guide explains the principle and PDF export workflow. Ask for the required settings for your flyer before exporting; a generic example is not a confirmed production specification.

Our artwork preparation guide covers the questions to raise before supplying files. A screenshot can show the intended appearance, but explain whether a separate print-ready file is available.

Include the required date and handover

Write the actual date you need the finished flyers, along with delivery needs or collection by arrangement. That lets production and handover be considered together.

EZ Print offers same-day printing. Subject to artwork, stock and production capacity confirmation. Timing is agreed for each job. Availability must be assessed against the particular flyer specification; submitting an enquiry does not confirm the schedule. Read the same-day printing information when planning an urgent request.

A brief you can adapt

  • Purpose and audience: where the flyer will be used.
  • Finished size and orientation: include folded dimensions if relevant.
  • Quantity: list the quantity for each artwork version.
  • Printed sides: identify the front and back.
  • Paper and finish: state known choices and preferences to discuss.
  • Artwork status: final or pending approval, with the approver identified.
  • Required date and handover: delivery needs or collection by arrangement.

Use the quote builder to organise those details into a WhatsApp or email draft. Review the message and attach your artwork in that channel. You send the enquiry yourself; EZ Print then confirms the assessed specification and schedule in the quotation.
