A corporate Chinese New Year 2027 print list in Singapore usually covers ang bao (red packets), wall and desk calendars, greeting cards with matching envelopes, gift tags for hampers, and window or wall decor. The Ministry of Manpower lists Chinese New Year 2027 on Saturday 6 February and Sunday 7 February 2027, and standard turnaround is 7–14 working days, so every item is planned backwards from the date it must be in hand.

What belongs on a corporate Chinese New Year 2027 print checklist?

Most corporate lists for the season are built from six items: ang bao for staff and clients, wall and desk calendars, greeting cards with envelopes, tags for hampers and gifts, carrier bags, and window or wall graphics for the office. Each one has its own size, stock and finishing, but all of them share the same standard turnaround of 7–14 working days.

The table below is a working checklist. Every size and stock in it is a standard option; anything else can be quoted from the specification.

Item Common sizes Stock or material Typical finishing Lead time
Ang bao (red packet) Around 90 × 175 mm 128 gsm or 157 gsm art paper Hot foil, emboss, matt lamination, soft touch, spot UV Standard 7–14 working days

Greeting card A6 105 × 148 mm, A5 148 × 210 mm, DL 99 × 210 mm, square 148 × 148 mm 260–350 gsm art card, or 300–400 gsm uncoated woodfree Creased and folded, foil, spot UV Standard 7–14 working days
Gift or hamper tag Cut to the tag shape Art card, kraft card or coloured card Hanging hole, string Standard 7–14 working days
Window and wall graphics Measured to the glass or wall Printed window film or wall film White layer where colour must hold on glass Standard 7–14 working days

Paper carrier bags belong on the same list when gifts are handed over in person: a printed paper carrier with gusset and handles, in kraft for texture or coated board for photographs. For the bag itself, see paper bag printing.

When is Chinese New Year 2027, and how should the print schedule be counted?

The MOM public holidays page lists Chinese New Year 2027 on Saturday 6 February and Sunday 7 February 2027, with the note that Monday, 8 February 2027, will be a public holiday if your rest day falls on 7 February 2027. Count the 7–14 working day turnaround backwards from the date items must be in hand, skipping weekends and public holidays.

The dates above were checked on the Ministry of Manpower public holidays page on 31 October 2026. Holiday lists can be revised, so check the MOM public holiday list again before you fix a delivery date or print a calendar grid.

Three rules keep a festive schedule honest:

  • Use the upper end of the window. Standard turnaround is 7–14 working days. Plan to the fourteenth working day, not the seventh, and treat anything faster as an express job that is quoted per job.
  • Count working days, not calendar days. Weekends and public holidays are not working days, and the year-end period already contains Christmas Day and New Year’s Day before Chinese New Year arrives.
  • Plan from the approval date. Production follows the approved artwork, so count the window from the day the artwork is signed off rather than from the first enquiry.

Calendars run to a harder date than everything else on the list. A calendar is worth nothing on the second of January, so a 2027 calendar has to be in hand before the year it shows begins, not just before the festival.

What specifications does a corporate ang bao need?

Ang bao, hong bao, red packet and money packet are one product under four names. It is around 90 × 175 mm, cut from its own die, creased and glued with an opening at the top, and printed on art paper. Foil and emboss are the usual finishes, and each needs tooling made before the first run.

Paper choices for a money packet are 128 gsm or 157 gsm art paper, both art papers rather than card, and the catalogue finishing options include matt lamination, soft touch, soft touch with spot UV, and sandblast with spot UV.

Artwork rules come from the same family as invitations:

  • Bleed and safe area: 3 mm bleed all round, 6 mm safe margin, and 8 mm for anything foiled or embossed.
  • Foil artwork: a K100 (100 per cent black) vector on its own layer named FOIL, solid shapes only. A gradient cannot be struck in metal.
  • Fine detail: no positive or negative foil detail under 0.7 pt, because a brass block cannot hold it.
  • Edges: keep foil more than 5 mm from the trim. Registration tolerance is around half a millimetre, so foil closer than that looks cropped on some packets and not others.

The brass block or die is made once and kept on file with the approved artwork, so next year’s reorder of the same design starts from the existing tooling. For sizes and finishes, see ang bao and invitation printing.

Which calendar formats suit a Chinese New Year corporate gift?

A wall calendar is usually thirteen leaves, a cover and twelve months, wire-O bound along the top and punched for hanging, at A4 or A3. A desk calendar stands on a folded easel back, commonly 210 × 100 mm or 148 × 210 mm, bound along the short edge. Both need 15 mm clear at the bound edge.

The working specification for each format:

  • Leaves: 157 gsm gloss art paper for photographic leaves, or 310 gsm matt art card where each leaf is written on.
  • Covers and easels: 310–350 gsm matt art card, creased before folding on a desk easel, so the calendar stands without leaning.
  • Binding margin: 15 mm clear at the bound edge on every leaf, including the cover. The wire holes and the hanging punch both sit in that band.
  • Leaf count: thirteen is standard; seven-leaf half-year sets and twenty-five-leaf fortnightly planners also run.
  • Cover lamination: usually only the cover, because it takes a year of handling while the leaves are turned past.

The holiday dates are the part most often wrong. Supply the dates for the year being printed, including Chinese New Year 2027 from the MOM list, and they are checked against the file before printing rather than assumed from a previous year. Full specifications are on the calendar printing page.

What should a Chinese New Year greeting card be printed on?

A greeting card is printed like a postcard and then creased and folded rather than trimmed flat. Standard sizes are A6, A5, DL and square, on 260–350 gsm gloss or matt art card, or 300–400 gsm uncoated woodfree where the card will be signed. The crease is scored before folding so the coating does not crack.

Foil reads cleanly on a smooth or lightly textured sheet and breaks up on a deep felt texture, so decide the finish before the paper. Envelopes are matched to the card size and supplied with the job: an A6 card goes into a C6 envelope at 114 × 162 mm, and a DL card into a DL envelope at 110 × 220 mm. A square card needs a square envelope, which is worth confirming before printing. Foil, emboss and envelope matching are covered in more depth in our invitation finishing guide.

What about hamper tags and office decor?

A hang tag is a punched card tag tied or looped onto a garment, bottle or gift with the brand and details, which makes it the natural label for a hamper. Office decor is usually printed film: window film on glass doors and shop windows, or wall film applied in panels and chosen for how it must come off.

For tags, the catalogue options include art card, kraft card and coloured card such as red, a choice of hanging hole position, and a snap-lock string. Keep a tag simple: it is read at arm’s length and usually carries a logo and a short greeting.

For glass, window film is a clear or white film printed for shop windows and glass doors, with a white layer where colour must hold. For walls, a printed film is applied across the wall in panels, and the film is chosen for the wall surface and for how it must come off after the season. Measure the glass or wall before the artwork is drawn, and ask for the material to be chosen against the surface rather than against the design.

Worked example: how would a company plan its Chinese New Year 2027 print run?

A company ordering ang bao, desk calendars and greeting cards for one season works backwards from the earliest date any item is needed. The calendars set that date because they must be in hand before the year begins, so their artwork is approved first and the other items follow on the same specification sheet.

Hypothetical planning example. Actual production timing, paper availability, and logistics are confirmed individually upon artwork and specification review.

A company wants three items for the season, each ordered on its own specification:

  • Desk calendars: 300 sets at 210 × 100 mm, thirteen leaves on 157 gsm gloss art paper, a 350 gsm matt art card easel back, wire-O along the short edge, 15 mm clear at the bound edge. The 2027 grid marks Chinese New Year on 6 and 7 February from the MOM list.
  • Ang bao: 2,000 packets at around 90 × 175 mm on 157 gsm art paper, gold hot foil on the front from a FOIL layer, 8 mm clear of the trim.
  • Greeting cards: 400 A6 cards on 350 gsm uncoated woodfree, creased and folded, with matched C6 envelopes.

Counting back for the calendars. The company wants the calendars in hand on Friday 15 January 2027 so they can be handed out at the first client meetings of the year. Using the upper end of the standard window, the fourteenth working day before that date has to be the approval date. Counting back and skipping weekends, New Year’s Day on Friday 1 January 2027 and Christmas Day on Friday 25 December 2026 (both on the MOM list), the latest approval date for that delivery is Thursday 24 December 2026. The company approves the calendar artwork earlier than that to leave room for a proof correction.

The other two items are needed later, before Chinese New Year itself, so they are counted back the same way from their own dates. Because the ang bao carry foil, the foil artwork is settled before the wording, since the brass block has to be made before the first packet runs. Anything that cannot fit the standard window is sent as an express enquiry, which is quoted per job.

Frequently asked questions

When is Chinese New Year 2027 in Singapore?

The Ministry of Manpower public holidays page lists Chinese New Year 2027 on Saturday 6 February and Sunday 7 February 2027. It adds that Monday, 8 February 2027, will be a public holiday if your rest day falls on 7 February 2027. Check the MOM public holiday list before you fix any delivery date.

What size is a corporate ang bao?

An ang bao, also called a hong bao, red packet or money packet, is around 90 × 175 mm. It is cut from its own die, creased and glued with an opening at the top, and foil and emboss are the usual finishes.

How many leaves does a corporate wall calendar have?

Thirteen leaves is standard, a cover and twelve months, bound with wire-O along the top and punched for hanging. Seven-leaf half-year sets and twenty-five-leaf fortnightly planners also run.

How far ahead should Chinese New Year printing be ordered?

Standard turnaround is 7–14 working days, and weekends and public holidays are not working days. Count back from the date the items must be in hand, using the upper end of that window, and settle any foil or emboss first because its tooling has to be made before the first run. Express is quoted per job.

Should the 2027 public holidays be printed on a corporate calendar?

If the calendar marks holidays, yes, and the dates should come from the MOM list for 2027 rather than from last year’s file. The dates you supply are checked against the artwork before printing rather than assumed.
