Proof a calendar by checking the dates first, then the physical format. An appealing cover cannot compensate for a date grid in the wrong year or a page sequence that makes the planner awkward to use. Treat supplied calendar illustrations as examples, especially when their artwork shows a previous or sample year.

For an EZ Print brief, identify the year and the job the calendar will do: desk reference, wall display, appointment recording or regular planning.

Establish the calendar’s factual source

Specify the intended calendar system and year. If you include public holidays, school dates or organisational events, record who has approved that information and which authoritative schedule was checked. This guide does not provide a holiday list or substitute for checking the actual year.

Decide the starting day of the week and use it consistently. Check every month’s opening weekday, total dates and transition to the next month. Review small reference calendars independently rather than assuming they copied correctly from the main grid. If more than one person proofs the dates, ask them to use the same approved source.

Separate the page count from the month count

A cover, yearly overview, notes page and introductory spread all affect the finished page sequence. Write out every side in order and indicate which should remain blank. For a desk format, think about what is visible after a page turns and whether a photograph belongs with the intended month.

For a planner, show how the weekly or daily pages follow the monthly sections. A repeated layout can conceal a duplicated date or skipped week. Check the first and last dated page of each section, then review the transitions where templates change.

Test writing and viewing positions

Choose one busy day or week and fill in a sample by hand. Check whether the space is enough for the intended entries and whether the important labels remain visible. Writing surfaces should be discussed before a finish is chosen, not assumed from an image of a planner.

For a wall calendar, look at the important dates from the expected viewing position. For a desk calendar, consider whether the stand or binding hides part of the artwork. Measure the available space and state the intended orientation so the construction can be assessed against the actual setting.

Check the binding and stand as part of the design

Ask for the confirmed area needed around punched holes or other binding. Keep essential dates and headings away from that area. If the calendar includes a stand, identify it separately from the printed pages and confirm how the complete item is supplied.

Adobe’s booklet preview guidance separates visual preview from settings review. Apply that distinction to your own checking routine: inspect the exported pages, then compare the page count, order and construction against the written brief. A preview alone does not approve a physical stand or writing surface.

Make one final date approval

Keep the signed-off date content and final exported file together. If a holiday or company event changes during review, update the artwork and repeat the relevant checks rather than assuming the earlier approval still covers it.

Browse calendar and stationery products and request a quote with the year, complete page sequence, quantities and intended use. State any writing, hanging or stand requirement explicitly. Exact binding and material options are confirmed for the job; the illustration does not establish availability.
