A membership card identifies a person or account; a loyalty card records progress towards a defined benefit. Choose the format after explaining that role. A printed card can communicate a scheme, but it does not create a member database, verify eligibility or operate the reward process by itself.

For an EZ Print enquiry, separate the physical card from the scheme it supports. This distinction makes questions about writable areas, codes and variable names much more useful.

Write the customer action in plain language

Describe what the holder will do with the card. They might present it to staff, collect stamps, record an appointment or scan a link. Keep the main action obvious on the face used during that interaction. A crowded list of benefits can make the practical task harder.

For a stamp scheme, sketch how the spaces will be used and how staff distinguish a completed card from a partly completed one. Test the proposed wording with someone who has not helped write it. If they cannot tell what to do next, improve the instruction before adding decoration.

Separate common content and member details

Mark which information is shared across the run and which changes per card. The member name, identification number, expiry date and code destination may have different owners. Build a sample using the longest name and largest number format rather than only the neatest row.

Confirm how data will be supplied and approved for the actual job. Do not assume that every card enquiry includes personalisation, numbering or a connection to a system. Keep unnecessary personal information out of reference images and identify the fields required for production before sending a final list.

Decide how the surface will be used

Writing, stamping and repeated handling are separate requirements. Tell EZ Print whether the user or staff will add information after printing, and identify the intended pen or stamp where known. Ask for the complete card-and-finish combination to be assessed for that use.

Do not infer compatibility from a glossy mockup. A decorative coating may change the behaviour of a writing or stamping area. Keep the required blank space clear in the artwork and ask whether the proposed construction allows it to perform as intended.

Check codes and scheme wording together

If the card contains a scannable code, preserve clear space around it and check the real destination. GS1 guidance highlights contrast around a two-dimensional symbol. Use code-specific requirements supplied for your application rather than applying a decorative border to every code.

Review benefit wording, limitations, expiry language and the instruction staff will follow. These rules belong to the scheme owner. Printing an attractive card does not validate the scheme or decide how a dispute should be handled. Get the approved text from the responsible person and make the final artwork match it.

Brief the physical item precisely

List finished size, quantities per version, whether content changes, the intended surface interaction and any existing card you need to match. State if you need paper or another construction assessed; do not treat the names membership card, loyalty card and plastic card as interchangeable specifications.

Browse the product directory and request a quote with a sample of the completed card and the relevant scheme instructions. Keep physical artwork approval and system testing as distinct checks. A card that reads clearly can still point to an unready scheme, so confirm both before putting it into use.
