Choose a label by the surface it must stick to and what happens to it afterwards. The face material, adhesive, printed image and protective finish work together. A material that looks right on a dry carton may need a different construction for a chilled bottle or a container that people squeeze.

For a Singapore product launch, begin with an actual empty container and a short description of its journey: labelling, storage, transport, display and use. That is more useful than asking for a “durable sticker” without explaining the conditions.

Describe the container first

Record whether the surface is glass, plastic, metal or paperboard. Note curves, seams, texture and any area where the label must wrap around an edge. Photograph the position of the label and measure the usable area.

Container flexibility also matters. A squeezable bottle changes shape; a rigid jar does not. A manufacturer’s film selection guide treats application, flexibility and container material as separate selection steps. A clear film, white film and paper label should therefore be considered as constructions for a purpose, rather than ranked by appearance alone.

Separate appearance from performance

If your priority is a paper feel on a dry box, say so. If the label will meet condensation, repeated wiping or frequent handling, describe each exposure and ask which complete construction is suitable.

Do not assume that choosing a film means every part of the finished label will resist every exposure. The printed image, adhesive and container still need consideration. For a transparent label, also ask how the background and product colour will affect the readability of small text.

A protective finish changes the specification. Identify whether you need a particular sheen, writable area or scannable code before selecting it.

Explain when the label is applied

The conditions during application can differ from the conditions during later use. A container labelled dry at room temperature and then refrigerated presents a different brief from one labelled while already cold and damp.

Official label temperature guidance distinguishes application temperature from service temperature and identifies frost as an obstacle to adhesive contact. Those published values apply to the named products on that page; use the principle, then confirm the requirements for the proposed label.

Tell EZ Print whether application is by hand or machine, before or after filling, and before or after chilling. Do not substitute an assumed adhesive choice for those facts.

Test the proposed construction on your container

Ask about a suitable sample before committing to the full run. Apply it using the intended process, then observe the conditions the real product will encounter. Check lifting edges, wrinkling, rubbing, print readability and whether a code can still be scanned.

This practical trial does not establish every performance property. It helps identify a mismatch early and gives you specific questions to resolve with the proposed construction.

Make the quote brief complete

Include label width and height, shape, quantity, artwork versions, surface material and intended use. State whether you need sheets or rolls. For machine application, supply the equipment’s required roll details rather than guessing the core, direction or spacing.

Use the stickers and labels page to frame the enquiry, then request a quote with a container photograph and the application conditions. Material and finishing choices should be confirmed against that brief before final artwork is prepared.
