Plan vehicle graphics around the actual vehicle and the message people need to understand. Photograph the relevant sides, identify the model and show panel boundaries, handles and openings. A general side-view mockup is useful for discussion but cannot establish the final fit or surface condition.

For an EZ Print enquiry, distinguish printed graphics, site assessment and any fitting requirement. Ask which parts of that scope can be confirmed for the job.

Identify the vehicle and its current condition

Record the model, body variant and any differences that affect the graphic area. Photographs should show the whole side and closer views of proposed panel locations. Include repaired, damaged or unusual finishes as questions to assess rather than assuming they behave like an undamaged original surface.

If several vehicles are involved, document each relevant variant. A common fleet identity does not establish that one artwork template fits every body. Keep measurements labelled with the vehicle reference so information from two similar vehicles is not combined accidentally.

Make the message work across panels

Choose the primary name or message first, then the supporting contact action. Look at how doors and seams divide the design. Essential text split awkwardly across a moving panel can become hard to understand when the vehicle is used.

Review the sides and rear as separate reading situations. A detail placed neatly on a large screen may be too small or crowded in the planned layout. Keep necessary identification readable and avoid relying on several competing actions in one short viewing moment.

Define the graphic scope

A small identification sticker, a panel graphic and a larger wrap are different requests. Mark the areas you want covered and any areas that should remain clear. Describe whether the enquiry is for graphic production alone or also includes an assessed fitting arrangement.

Do not infer that windows, recesses or difficult surfaces are part of the approved scope because a sample image includes them. Ask about the actual construction and application requirements. Keep any external approvals or responsible-person reviews separate from the print enquiry.

Treat the surface as a technical question

Avery Dennison’s preparation bulletin identifies surface condition and paint compatibility as application considerations. Its guidance applies to named materials and processes; it does not establish EZ Print’s proposed film or installation scope.

Provide information about the finish and explain intended exposure, cleaning and future removal. Follow the actual proposed material’s instructions through the responsible applicator. This article does not provide a chemical cleaning routine, repair method or assurance about removal from an unknown finish.

Approve the real layout reference

Ask how the final measured layout should be reviewed before production. Check logo proportions, telephone and web details, reading direction and front-to-back consistency. If artwork changes after an assessment, identify that revision clearly so an earlier layout is not mistaken for the approved one.

Use the surface-graphics directory and request a quote with labelled vehicle photographs, coverage areas, quantities and the required scope. Confirm measurements, material, fittings and responsibilities before approval. A well-organised reference makes uncertainty visible early and prevents an attractive mockup becoming an unsupported promise about the completed vehicle.

Frequently asked questions

What photos should I send for a vehicle graphics quote?

Send photographs of each relevant side in full, plus closer views of the proposed panel locations showing panel boundaries, handles and openings. Record the model and body variant, and include any repaired, damaged or unusual finishes so they can be assessed. Label every photograph and measurement with the vehicle reference.

Can one vehicle graphics layout fit every van in my fleet?

Not automatically. A common fleet identity does not establish that one artwork template fits every body. Document each relevant variant, note any differences that affect the graphic area, and keep measurements labelled with the vehicle reference so information from two similar vehicles is not combined by accident.

Where should the company name go on a van with doors and seams?

Choose the primary name or message first, then the supporting contact action, and look at how doors and seams divide the design. Essential text split awkwardly across a moving panel can become hard to understand when the vehicle is in use. Treat the sides and the rear as separate reading situations.

Will vehicle graphics damage the paint when they are removed?

No assurance can be given about removal from an unknown finish. Surface condition and paint compatibility are application considerations, so provide information about the finish and explain the intended exposure, cleaning and future removal. Follow the actual proposed material’s instructions through the responsible applicator.

Does a vehicle graphics order include installation?

Only if that scope is agreed. State whether the enquiry is for graphic production alone or also includes an assessed fitting arrangement, and ask which parts, from printed graphics to site assessment and fitting, can be confirmed for the job. Confirm measurements, material, fittings and responsibilities before approval, and keep any external approvals separate.
