Print idea

Twist banner stand

A flexible display built from clamp rails on a springy mast, so a run of printed panels forms a curve or a column rather than a flat wall — and any one panel can be swapped on its own.

Standard turnaround is 7–14 working days.

What twist banner stand is

A springy mast and a set of clamp rails. Each printed panel is gripped along its top and bottom edge, and the mast is twisted so the run of panels forms a gentle S, a spiral or a column instead of a flat wall. Panels come off the rails individually, which is the whole argument for the system: one panel can be reprinted and swapped while every other panel and all of the hardware stay exactly as they are. The rails and mast pack down into a tube.

A laminated roll media, printed and then clamped — stiff enough not to ripple between the two rails, flexible enough to take the twist without holding a permanent kink. Woven polyester panels are used on the systems that accept them, where a matt, glare-free face matters more than absolute flatness. Neither is a sheet the caliper table holds.

  2. The visible area.
  3. The cassette. The foot of the drop is inside the hardware and is printed, paid for and never seen.

The specification

Six fields, and the last one is the useful one.

The same six questions are answered for every entry in this section, in the same order, so two objects can be compared without reading two pages of prose. The mistake is stated last and stated plainly, because it is the one that costs a reprint and it is the reason this page is worth sending to a colleague.

What it is
A springy mast and a set of clamp rails.
What it is printed on

A laminated roll media, printed and then clamped — stiff enough not to ripple between the two rails, flexible enough to take the twist without holding a permanent kink. Woven polyester panels are used on the systems that accept them, where a matt, glare-free face matters more than absolute flatness. Neither is a sheet the caliper table holds.

How it feels
Under tension between the rails the face is taut but not drum-tight; press it and it dishes slightly, then returns. The laminate is dry and matt to a fingertip. The clamped edge is a hard line you can feel through the panel where the rail bites, and it is the first place a panel shows wear after repeated shows.
What it suits
Roadshows and atrium activations where the footprint is a shape rather than a wall, conference registration areas, and any run that has to be rearranged for a smaller site next time. It suits a modular message — one panel per proposition. It does not suit a single full-bleed image, because the gaps between panels are part of the composition whether or not anybody planned them.
Lead time
Standard turnaround is 7–14 working days. Counted from approved artwork rather than from the enquiry.
The common mistake
Sizing every panel’s type identically. On a twisted run the panels sit at different angles and different depths from the aisle, so type scaled for the leading panel is illegible on the one turned away from the traffic. Set the type per panel position, put the argument on the panel nearest the aisle, and let the panels facing away carry colour rather than copy.

Where this sits.

Every entry is indexed three ways, because a buyer arrives knowing the occasion, the object or the material and almost never all three.
