Plan a large display from its visible area and attachment system. A banner tied to a structure, a flag on a pole and a backdrop stretched over a frame need different artwork and fit decisions. The overall printed size is not always the same as the area the audience sees.

Choose the viewing situation
Describe whether people approach the display, stand beside it or use it as a photographic background. A banner may need one message legible from farther away. A backdrop may need the important branding positioned where people do not cover it in photographs.
For a flag, consider orientation and what is visible from each viewing direction. State the intended relationship between the graphic and support. Do not assume one flat artwork file settles both sides or the reverse reading experience.
Identify the support before final sizing
If you already have a frame, pole or structure, provide its exact details and photographs of the graphic connection. Identify the model where known and use the confirmed graphic template. A display system’s external dimensions are not automatically the artwork dimensions.
A manufacturer’s display reference separates assembled dimensions and graphic templates. This demonstrates a useful distinction; the named manufacturer product is not claimed as EZ Print stock. Apply the principle to the actual item you need to match.
Keep attachment areas clear
Mark hems, pockets, eyelets, seams or other proposed attachment details on the layout. Request their actual positions and clearances before setting essential text. A graphic that reaches the edge on screen may have part of its image folded, concealed or interrupted in use.
If the design includes a large photograph, identify its crop and the desired visible composition. Check faces, headings and codes against the planned attachment areas. Keep the file’s outer edge separate from the finished visible boundary in the brief.
Describe exposure and handling
Explain the location, likely movement, transport and repeated assembly. Outdoor use deserves a complete suitability assessment of the graphic, support and attachment, rather than a material choice based only on appearance. State the conditions and ask which proposed construction can be assessed.
Do not assume that hardware, ballast, fixing, carrying cases or fitting are included with a banner. List the complete required scope. If several display pieces must travel together, explain the packed arrangement and storage needs as part of the enquiry.
Review the final message and file
Check the main message in a layout scaled to the expected viewing situation, then inspect details in the actual export. Adobe Preflight supports technical PDF checks. A technically sound file still needs review for hidden attachment areas and the way people use the display.
Discuss banners and displays and request a quote with dimensions, support details, quantities, exposure and proposed artwork. State whether you need graphics only, hardware only or a package assessed. Confirm the exact template and included components before treating the display as a complete event arrangement.
