- What it is
- A sewn cover that goes over a trestle or banquet table and turns somebody else’s furniture into a branded object. Two shapes: an open-back throw, cut oversize so it drapes and hangs; and a fitted stretch cover, cut to the table with foot pockets that grip the legs so the front face stays flat and taut. The printed area that matters on either is the front — specifically the band between the table edge and the point where the cloth disappears behind chairs, bags, knees and people.
- What it is printed on
Woven polyester, printed by dye sublimation, so the cover can be washed and folded repeatedly without the print flaking or cracking. It is a garment as much as a graphic: panels are cut, printed and then sewn, so the seams fall where the tailoring puts them rather than where the artwork would prefer them. It is not a sheet, so the caliper table holds no entry for it.
- How it feels
- Light, dry and matt, with the give of a jersey rather than the stiffness of a banner. A stretch cover pulled down onto its table is taut enough to bounce a fingertip off. A draped throw hangs soft and shows every fold it was packed with until it has hung long enough to drop out. Both feel like clothing, and both crease in a bag — that is the trade for folding into one.
- What it suits
- Exhibition and roadshow tables, conference registration, career fairs, sampling counters, and food and beverage activations where the cloth gets wiped down between sessions. It does not suit a table that will be covered in product, which hides the top panel entirely, and a draped throw does not suit an outdoor site with any wind — it lifts, and it takes the display with it.
- Lead time
- Standard turnaround is 7–14 working days. Counted from approved artwork rather than from the enquiry.
- The common mistake
- Centring the logo on the front panel. Put two people and a laptop behind the table and the middle of that panel is exactly where their knees are. The band that is reliably visible is the upper part of the front face, between the table edge and roughly the height of a seated person’s lap. Put the mark there, repeat it towards each end so it survives being half-blocked, and treat the bottom of the drop as background.
Print idea
Branded table throw
A sewn polyester cover that turns a borrowed trestle table into a branded surface. The band that is reliably seen is far smaller than the band that gets printed.

- The sewn hem, taking the load along the whole edge rather than at points.
The specification
Six fields, and the last one is the useful one.
The same six questions are answered for every entry in this section, in the same order, so two objects can be compared without reading two pages of prose. The mistake is stated last and stated plainly, because it is the one that costs a reprint and it is the reason this page is worth sending to a colleague.
Where this sits.
Every entry is indexed three ways, because a buyer arrives knowing the occasion, the object or the material and almost never all three.
